Pat Scarpello
Head Men's Lacrosse Coach
Pat Scarpello enters his ninth season as the Devils' head men’s lacrosse coach.
In 2009, Scarpello led the Devils to the Middle Atlantic Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championship while also appearing in the NCAA Tournament. It was the first time FDU has done both in a season since 1981.
Scarpello brings with him more than 23 years of coaching experience. He currently has the Devils on a streak of seven straight appearances in the MAC Tournament appearances in the Tournament Finals in 2004 and 2009.
Prior to FDU, he served as an assistant coach at the University of Delaware and the head coach at Cabrini College. Scarpello also founded the boys lacrosse program at his alma mater, Salesianum High School in Wilmington, Delaware.
Scarpello is the US Lacrosse men's collegiate representative of the New Jersey chapter and is on the USLIA All-American selection committee and is a Site Supervisor for the NCAA Tournament.
Mike Shambach
Assistant Coach
Mike Schambach enters his fifth season as an assistant coach on the FDU staff.
His duties include serving as the team's defensive coordinator as well as working with the face-off specialists. Schambach is also heavily involved in the team's recruiting.
Before arriving at FDU, Schambach received his first coaching position as the JV coach at Watchung Hills High School. He is also the Morris Select High School Elite head coach and has many years developing players as a camp counselor for FDU, Rutgers, MVP and Central Jersey lacrosse camps.
An alumn of Rutgers University, he was a key member of the 2003 team that went to the NCAA Tournament and garnerd a spot in the Top Ten.
Dan Abrams
Assistant Coach
Dan Abrams enters his first season on the FDU coaching staff where he will work with the midfielders.
Abrams played collegiately for Goucher College in Baltimore, MD, where he was a midfielder for four seasons. A psychology major, he graduated with honors in 2009 and is now pursuing his Master's in Forensic Psychology at FDU. He has previous coaching experience for Morris Select and the Delaware Silverbacks. He currently resides in Madison, NJ.
Dan Lederer
Assistant Coach
Dan Lederer returns to the FDU Coaching Staff after a three year hiatus. Lederer will help mentor the defense and man-down units.
Lederer enters his second stint with the Devils after serving on the staff in the 2005 and 2006 seasons. Prior to coming to FDU, he was an assistant coach at Chatham High School in 2003 and 2004 and at Ridgewood High School from 2000-2002.
He is a 1999 graduate of the University of Scranton with a degree in Communications. He was a four-year starter, a team captain and an All-Conference defenseman while with the Royals. He earned a Master's Degree in Teaching at Montclair State University in 2002.
Lederer has also served as a Physical Education and Health teacher in the Chatham, NJ, School District.
Jamie Baker
Assistant Coach
Jamie Baker enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Devils after playing for the Devils in 2007 and 2008.
Baker tutors the FDU man-up squad when they have extra man opportunities.
Baker helped the Devils to two MAC Tournament appearances and served as team captain in 2008.
He also played two seasons at Nazareth College before transferring to FDU. Baker was a high school standout at Seton Hall Prep where he was a two-time team captain.
